There are now a few copies of “UAE Rock Climbing” on the shelves in ClimbOn/ OutWest in Squamish. This is the first time the book has been stocked in North America, as far as I know. Interestingly sales from the distributor in the UK – which either go to online or European retail outlets – picked up sharply recently. This might be somehow connected with the publicity surrounding the TNF team (Alex Honnold, Hazel Findlay, etc) visiting Musandam … or it might be coincidence.
The book will soon be stocked by Magrudy’s Bookshops, who have several stores around the UAE, including Abu Dhabi.
February 2010 UPDATE: as so often with this project, it’s been easy to speak too soon. Magrudy’s are actually unlikely to become a retailer due to their peculiar stocking/ payment policies.
UK/ Overseas: apparently the esteemed and ancient (since 1901) Stanfords in Covent Garden have a few already. Plus some other shops. Otherwise try Cordee.
Dubai: Go Sports in Ibn Battuta Mall and Mall of the Emirates (please buy something else from the outdoor section while you are there to boost Global Climbing … there’s no profit being made on the book!).
